The Spanish Ministry of Defense, Directorate General for Defense Armament & Materiel, currently sponsors development and Spanish Army procurement of the Alcotan-100. Status. Development through serial production. Total Produced. Through 2010, we estimate the prime contractor produced nearly 38,900 Alcotan-100 munitions. Application. A lightweight, man-portable, shoulder-fired anti-armor and multipurpose weapon system, optimized for use by infantrymen on the move. The Alcotan-100 launcher is disposable after firing; the operator retains the fire control mechanism for re-use. Price Range. In 2011 U.S. dollars, the complete Alcotan-100 system (container/launch tube with munition and fire control component) reportedly maintains a unit price of $11,657. An individual tandem-warhead munition (in the disposable container/launch tube) costs $3,502.
