The Federal Republic of Germany's Federal Ministry of Defense, through the Bundesamt fur Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (Federal Office for Military Technology and Procurement), sponsored the development and Bundeswehr procurement of the DM702 SMART 155. Status. Development through serial production. Total Produced. Through 2010, we estimate the contractor team produced 17,960 DM702 artillery projectiles and associated SMART 155 submunitions. Application. A submunition-dispensing artillery projectile optimized for long-range engagement of massed armor formations. Price Range. In 2011 U.S. dollars, the DM702 projectile with two SMART 155 submunitions reportedly carries a unit price of $21,205.
