The U.S. Army Operations Support Command controls the production of most ammunition used by the U.S. military. A number of government-owned/contractor-operated production facilities accomplish all production. The number of these facilities is decreasing as a result of changed threat scenarios, reduced defense budgets, and other factors. The following listing includes both active and inactive facilities.
