Chunghwa Telecom selects UTStarcom optical transport platform to enhance broadband in Taiwan

U.S. quoted UTStarcom of Beijing, a provider of IP-based telecom infrastructure products mainly to customers in Asia, announced its selection by Chunghwa Telecom of Taiwan to supply SDH and optical cross-connect solutions. Chunghwa Telecom, the main service provider in Taiwan with approximately 11.8 million fixed-line, 4.6 million broadband and 10.2 million mobile customers, will deploy the UTStarcom NetRing 40K transport platform to support the delivery of high-speed broadband services to subscribers across Taiwan starting from the first quarter of 2013.
