BTI systems raises $8.5m of planned $12m funding round led by bain capital ventures

BTI Systems of Ottawa, a privately-held supplier of mobile backhaul, metro packet-optical and Ethernet business services solutions, has raised $8.5 million of a planned $12 million funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures. The Boston Business Journal quoted Sally Bament, SVP of Global Marketing at BTI, as saying the funding included all investors in the firm's previous $23 million round announced in January 2012, including Kodiak Venture Partners, GrowthWorks and Fujitsu. Ms Bament said the company is raising the new funding for an upcoming initiative in the cloud and data center space, details of which will be disclosed in several weeks.
