Demand chain management in manufacturing and services: Web-based integration, drivers and performance

摘要

Manufacturers and services relying on only Web-based demand or supply integration outperform their low integration counterparts. This hypothesis is validated with a stratified random sample of UK manufacturers and services, which also provides strong evidence to the belief that DCM leads to the highest performance in manufacturing. The study also investigates DCM adoption drivers and finds that rational efficiency and bandwagon effects drive the changes.
