Information technology, operational and management competencies for supply chain agility: Findings from case studies

Supply chain agility is the ability of supply chain to face the unexpected changes in the market and convert them in to opportunities for which will help to survive at any difficult environment. Most of the studies in this, concentrates on enablers such as positive relationships among supply chain partners, flexibility, internal integration and IT. This paper studies supply chain competence or organizational collaboration for improving supply chain agility. To be specific, this study aims at investigating the entities that encompass supply chain competence, the role of IT, operational and management competencies that enable supply chain agility and the supply chain agility's ability to improve its performance. This study develops a model to investigate the impact of competencies in imbibing supply chain agility. (57 refs.)
