Searching From Within Apps

For years, the search box has been the main starting point for a search. Whether at a web search engine, a library database, or even on a smartphone, the search box is where most people enter search words and phrases. Nontextual searching also exists. Voice-activated searching and personal assistants such as Apple's Siri and Microsoft's Cortana provide an alternative to entering text manually-and yet the spoken words are translated into text for searching. A less-common search approach, available for several years now, is image searching, which can be done by uploading an image or entering an image's URL.
