This workis part of the European EUCLID RTP3.32 program, whose purpose is to limit the vulnerability of composite tank structures on aircraft to sniper shots, mainly during take-off (full tank). Indeed under certain circumstances a projectile can generate a catastrophic damage within a tank: the ? hydraulic ram ?.After traversing the entry wall of a tank caisson, the projectile finds in its path a space that is more or less full of liquid and internal walls. It is slowed down or even stopped by the fluid which reacts with a drag force that is a function of the kinematics, geometry and characteristics of the projectile and fluid.
