The debate on how Mississippi should spend the remaining $700 million in economic damage payments from the gulf oil spill continues. The 2018 legislative session ended without legislation on how these funds should be spent. Mississippi Gulf Coast business and political leaders want 75% of the funds to be spent on the Gulf Coast while other politicians want the money spread throughout the state on roads, bridges and other projects.
