Major oil companies have asked officials in Florida to waive some of the state's fuel volatility standards so that they can market E10 gasoline in the Sunshine State this spring.rnThe state is already mulling changes to its fuel specs after refiners complained that they would not be able to meet the current standards using conventional ASTM standard gasoline because adding ethanol to that grade could boost volatility.rnRegulators have indicated that they will take the full 90 days available to them to review the rules, leaving majors in a legal limbo - they either make a lower-volatility boutique blendstock or use conventional gasoline and run the risk of selling off-spec fuel.
