Senators from farm states are trying to push EPA into approving the sale of E15 alcohol fuel by year's end. They say they will block the agency's access to clean air funds under a $32.1 billion EPA and Interior Dept. budget bill for 2010 if EPA does not give its blessing to the alcohol blend by Dec. 1.rnBut even if they're successful, the nation's largest gasoline market-California - will be closed to their efforts. Gordon Schemp, senior fuels specialist with the California Energy Commission, said at a meeting in Reno, Nev., last week that regulators will not allow sale of the blend any time soon, even if EPA grants permission for refiners and marketers to go to E15.
