Citgo now says it will continue to supply discounted heating oil to low-income homes at the same rate and volume as it has done in previous years. Officials with the Houston-based refiner had previously told nonprofit group Citizens Energy that the program was "suspended until further notice." Citgo CEO Alejandro Granado cited "the current global financial crisis and its impact on the oil industry in general" as reasons for Citgo's decision to renew the program after all. Just before Christmas, Citgo had told Citizen's Energy that the program was being "reevaluated."
