摘要

Beware of company golf outings - they could lift the worldwide price of oil by $1.50/barrel and lead to robust middle-of-the-night trading volumes.rnStephen Perkins, a broker with PVM Oil Futures in London, got sloppy drunk at a weekend golf outing, kept drinking through Monday and Tuesday, and thereby bought 7.13 million bbls of oil futures contracts in deals that pushed North Sea crude prices up by 2%. Perkins' transactions took place June 29 and 30 last year, and were clearly tied to heavy drinking resulting from alcoholism, according to an investigation by the U.K. Financial Services Authority.
