EPA seeks fugitives in various fuel-related schemes

Since the early 90s, the IRS and EPA have put dozens of fuel tax cheaters and fuel misblenders behind bars but some of those who have been indicted or convicted in fuel-related crimes are still on the lam.rnEPA this week added Yousef Ishaq Abuteir, of Houston, Texas, to its list of fugitives. Abuteir, one of three people who pleaded guilty in 2008 to defrauding the IRS of federal fuel excise taxes, never appeared for scheduled court proceedings last year, said EPA.
