Beware of another twist on prepaid card scam

A new version of the widely used prepaid card scam has surfaced in which the Texas Attorney General's Office (AG) says identity thieves pose as employees of the AG's office, phoning targeted individuals, especially those who have applied for a short-term loan. The crooks falsely claim the AG is investigating the victim and an arrest warrant has been issued because of failure to repay a short-term loan. Last month, nearly 200 Texans reported getting the calls.
