From the States: Talks over pipeline could end in August

Mediation talks over the fate of Enbridge's Line 5 pipeline are expected to wrap up by the end of August, the company and Michigan officials have told the judge overseeing the legal dispute. A status update filed recently said the two parties expect to meet with the mediator Aug. 11. "The parties will report further to the court following that meeting, but at present anticipate that the mediation could be completed by or around the end of August 2021," the update said. The brief filing, however, didn't provide any clue as to whether the parties are any closer to settling the fight over Michigan's efforts to shut the pipeline down.
