Denver – The United States is expected to dodge ageneral recession in the foreseeable future, and the truckingbusiness should emerge from a slump encountered last year,according to Bob Costello, chief economist for the AmericanTrucking Associations.The U.S. is likely in the late stages of the currenteconomic expansion, but “the good news is that this is goinginto extra innings,” Costello told attendees of the NationalAssociation of Truck Stop Operators at the group’s annualshow here.
