M&A: Northeastern U.S. sees　another off-season fuel oil deal

Booma Oil and Energy, based in Lynn, Mass., has acquired the fullserviceheating oil business of Imperial Fuel, also based in Lynn.The 86-year-old company is one of the largest family-owned heatingcompanies on Boston’s North Shore, with residential and commercialcustomers in Lynn, Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, Marblehead andsurrounding towns.The deal was arranged and negotiated by Steve Abbate with CetaneAssociates. Cetane has had a busy off-season working with heatingoil retailers.In early May, Cetane Associates helped Townsend Energy purchasethe full-service fuels business of M.L. Halle Oil Service of Manchester, N.H.Later that month, Cetane worked with HOP Energy, one of the largestregional heating oil companies, and helped that firm purchase the fullserviceheating oil business of northern New Jersey’s Dowling Fuel.
