Vessels contracted for Black Sea pipe runs

Demand for offshore vessels in the Caspian Sea will continue to rise as energy groups increase investment in the large oil and gas projects in the region. Joint venture partners in the giant Kashagan oil field in the northern Caspian, off Kazakhstan, are planning to spend more than US$3.5 billion to replace leaking oil and gas pipes. The work is needed to bring the troubled US$50 billion oil project back into production following last year's leaks that halted output.
