Damen ARNO Dunkerque fits SPS 'feet' to turbine installation vessel

Damen ARNO Dunkerque, part of the Damen shiprepair and conversion group, recently gave the world's first purpose-built turbine installation and maintenance vessel, the 2003-built MPI Resolution, a new set of 'feet'. The yard carried out upgrades on the feet or spudcans of the jack-up vessel's legs to give them the additional strength. The operation, which is thought to be the first of its kind, involved strengthening the spudcans through the use of the innovative sandwich plate system (SPS) developed by Intelligent Engineering (UK) Ltd.
