NEW DSVS ADD TO KREUZ SUBSEA'S GROWING CAPABILITY

Singapore-based, private equity-owned Kreuz Subsea is set to add a third diving support vessel (DSV) to its fleet, having placed an order with Vard yard group for a newbuild to be constructed for a long-term charter with Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP). The DP2 vessel is to be constructed in Europe. The hull, to be built in Romania, will undergo outfitting in Norway and is due to be delivered in the second quarter of 2017. Kreuz has gone for the VARD 3 17 design for the second newbuild vessel it has commissioned in the last two years, but to specifications approved by BSP, business development " manager Paolo Cattaneo told OSJ. Mr Cattaneo described Kreuz's VARD 3 17 design as a light construction vessel capable of undertaking subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (Surf) installation, inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) and general subsea installation and construction work.
