Keppel counts liftboats as potential growth area

As highlighted previously in OSJ, interest in liftboats has grown as field operators seek operational efficiencies in brownfield maintenance. Keppel Singmarine is providing technical services for a liftboat that Keppel Offshore & Marine's joint venture shipyard in Qatar, Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM), is currently building for Gulf Drilling International (GDI), which is on track for delivery before the year end. Keppel Singmarine is providing technical services that include detailed and production engineering, technical and commissioning support and procurement support. GDI will use the liftboat to provide accommodation and platform support services to a customer with operations in Qatar.
