Digitalisation and the future of offshore connectivity

Attitudes towards digitalisation in the offshore support vessel (OSV) sector are reaching maturity. Inmarsat is convinced that the return from lay-up by a significant number of OSVs in 2019 will see attitudes towards internet-of-things (loT) technology transformed. Inmarsat's view is based on the way digital leaders are already choosing high-speed broadband to achieve efficiency, safety and environmental gains in ship operations and crew welfare, but also with the knowledge that key enablers are coming to market this year to deliver the industry-wide benefits.
