May proved to be another busy month for OSV operators in the US Gulf of Mexico. Utilisation for PSVs improved to the point where virtually every PSV of 180 feet (54.86m) and greater that was not stacked or inshore for repairs managed to find work.Market fundamentals will support continued high utilisation and increases in day rates for dynamically positioned PSVs in the coming months. By September, seven more floating drilling units (drillships and semis) are scheduled to arrive in the US Gulf to begin drilling campaigns.
