The US Gulf PSV fleet grew slightly in December with the delivery of two vessels, a 1,278 dwt PSV and a 5,741 dwt PSV, both with DP-2. The fact that both vessels found work relatively soon after delivery stands as a testament to the continued strong demand for DP-2 deepwater support vessels in the US Gulf of Mexico. The return of three PSVs from Latin America, which also found term work, helped to bolster the working vessel count in the US Gulf, contributing to a net seven-vessel rise in the working number from November to December.
