Fire-Resistant Cables Protect Critical Offshore Systems During Fires

Draka Marine, Oil & Gas International today announced the new fire resistant Flex-Flame HCF (HydroCarbon Fire) cables for use on offshore drilling rigs and production platforms. These cables are designed specifically to keep a number of critical systems applications operating during a fire and other dangerous situations that can potentially arise in the harsh environment of the offshore industry. These applications include emergency shut down and fire pump systems, communications systems, fire and gas monitoring systems, power supply for motor operated block and depressuring valves, and other critical systems.
