Oxford University's Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory provides some useful chemical safety information on its website. This includes a list of known and suspected carcinogens, common abbreviations for chemicals and CAS numbers for selected chemicals (as well as a CAS to EU number converter), Material Safety Data Sheets for a number of consumer and industrial products and other chemical substances, colour codes for compressed gas cylinders, TREMCARDS, hazard codes, and lists of organic liquids with low flash points, highly toxic common chemicals and shock-sensitive materials.rnThere is also a guide on how to interpret MSDSs and the meanings of the risk and safety phrases used in them, as well as a glossary of terms relating to chemical safety.
