In April 2008, the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 came into force in the music and entertainment sector following a two year transition period. So is the sector quieter as a result? For the audience, not really. Mahler's 8th Symphony or the music of your favourite heavy metal band is still going to blow your mind - but it shouldn't be as potentially damaging to the musicians playing it as it used to be.rnBut of course, it's not just musicians the 2005 regulations are designed to protect; it's staff working in music and entertainment venues as well.
