It is over 50 years since RoSPA—then known as the London 'Safety First' Council—appointed an industrial safety committee composed largely of leaders of industry to enquire into and advocate safety principles for those at work. Since that time, the Society has played a pioneering and increasingly important role in the development of industrial safety throughout the United Kingdom. Its responsible and objective approach supported by enlightened training methods, wide technical advice, conferences, exhibitions and so on, has made its contribution a very positive one.
