摘要

Network Rail, the owner and operator of Britain's railway infrastructure, has been fined £500,000 for a breach of health and safety law which led to a 10-year-old boy suffering serious injuries after the car he was a passenger in was hit by a train at a level crossing on a private road near Beccles, Suffolk, in 2010. The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) investigation into the collision found that the accident was caused by poor visibility of trains when approaching the crossing from the south side.
