The second interim report into last year's legionnaires' disease outbreak in Edinburgh has been published. It focuses on the investigations carried out, the impact of the outbreak on NHS Lothian, and includes recommendations from the incident management team. Between late May and late June 2012, 56 people who had links to south west Edinburgh were confirmed as suffering from legionnaires' disease. Four of these people died. Detailed investigations into the source of the outbreak are continuing with further testing and analysis of the environmental samples taken from potential sources being carried out.
