The Highways Agency has issued a safety alert for road workers about the risks of working around dumper trucks and other mobile plant, following a recent incident at one of its highways projects. "Even unloaded the operator's vision is obstructed by the dumper skip. When loaded this could be further impaired, and it can be as much as 5m from the front before obstructions or people can be seen," says the alert.
