摘要

As a health and safety consultant, I support businesses of all shapes and sizes in a wide range of sectors. I like to think I take organisations on a journey. I train, get things fixed, and work with leaders to change hearts and minds from top to bottom and bottom to top. Most companies now get the 'safety' bit and there is plenty of support, guidance and examples of how to do this successfully. Safety is something tangible, you can usually do an inspection and see when there is a problem, but as I work with clients to shift focus and begin talking about occupational health, it can sometimes be seen as a nice extra, not strategic, and something which can wait for another year. The managing 'health' bit is often about dealing with things you can't see and issues which "might" happen in the future, and because of this it can be difficult to convince some employers action needs to be taken now rather than later, that prevention is better than waiting for a problem to happen. So, what are some of the issues to consider?
