摘要

According to a YouGov survey for the TUC, almost a quarter (24%) of workers went to work in January despite feeling too ill to do so. Most said they went to work because they did not want to let down colleagues. The survey also found that more than half (57%) of the 1,389 adults questioned claim to have gone to work in the past year despite being ill. Only 12% say they always take time off when feeling ill. The TUC claims the result show that presenteeism is on the rise. It conducted a similar poll in 2004, when 19% said that they had been to work in the last month when too ill to do so. More than twice as many (25%) then said they had never been to work when too ill.
