Sentinel objectives

The HPA's UK Sentinel surveillance system will: 1. monitor the incidence of, and risk factors for, all occupational exposures to healthcare workers with a potential for BBV transmission, and changes in these factors overtime 2. monitor exposure outcomes and assess the impact of therapeutic interventions such as HIV and HBV post-exposure prophylaxis or disease treatment (HCV), and monitor HBV vaccination policy over time.
