STRESS INDICATOR TOOL

A systematic review into the use of the HSE's indicator tool - a way of measuring organisations' performance against the management standards for work related stress - has found that the tool is 'psychometrically sound', and is used in a number of different countries and across a broad range of occupational environments. The review, led by the Department of Applied Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University, examined how the HSE indicator is being used in organisations. Its aim was to explore existing studies into the tool to identify the contexts in which it is being used, and to explore its psychometric properties and its relationships with alternative measures of stress and wellbeing.
