ABSENCE LOW DOWN

Average levels of employee absence were at a record low in 2012, according to the Confederation of British Industry's (CBI's) latest report on sickness absence1. The UK average absence rate was 5.3 days per employee in 2012, down from 6.5 days per employee in 2010. HR practitioners and line managers from 153 organisations across the public and private sectors responded to the survey, representing approximately 850,000 employees - 3.4% of all employees in the UK.
