Atos Healthcare is seeking an early exit from its £500111 government contract to run the Work Capability Assessments (WCAs) - the tests used to ascertain eligibility for Employment Support Allowance and other benefits. Its contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is due to expire in August 2015. Speaking to Occupational Health [at Work] an Atos spokesperson said: 'Obviously we will continue to deliver the WCA contract and the medical services contract - it's a frontline service and we're committed to doing that - we won't be walking away from it until a new service begins.'
