Russia does not plan to counter the deployment of a U.S. missile detection system in Poland by returning nuclear weapons to Belarus, Russia's ambassador to Belarus told reporters in Minsk last week. Ambassador Alexander Surikov said Russian officials are contemplating a host of options to deal with a missile defense system placed in Poland, including cooperating with Belarus to place Iskander missile system and strategic bombers in the country.
