DNFSB PLANS MEETING ON SAFETY IN HIGH-HAZARD NUCLEAR OPERATIONS

Unhappy with the Department of Energy's response to a 2004 recommendation to strengthen the oversight of complex, high-hazard nuclear operations, the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board is planning to host a series of public hearings on outstanding issues with the Depart-ment's implementation plan. The first hearing will take place Sept. 29 at the Board's Washington, D.C., headquar-rnters.
