摘要

Writing that he is "fed up" with criticism of mixed oxide nuclear fuel by anti-nuclear activists in the wake of Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster, AREVA Inc. CEO Jacques Besnainou fired back at the fuel's critics in an open letter to energy reporters last week, saying "enough is enough" and urging a "stop to sensationalism." AREVA, which is a partner with Shaw in the construction of the $4.86 billion Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility at the Savannah River Site, is a champion of MOX fuel internationally and the supplier of MOX fuel at Japan's stricken Fukushima Unit 3, which was using about 6 percent of MOX fuel when the Japanese nuclear crisis began.
