The U.S. State Department on Monday marked the 30th anniversary of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR),rncalling it “an outstanding example of multilateral nonproliferation cooperation.”rnThe Group of Seven nations – the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan – on Aprilrn16, 1987, announced the establishment of the MTCR, intended to restrict the export of missiles and associatedrntechnologies that can deliver weapons of mass destruction – specifically those missiles that can carry payloads of atrnleast 500 kilograms to a range of 300 kilometers or more.
