Washington Urges DOE To Select Preferred Method for Treating Tank Waste at Hanford

Washington State's Department of Ecology (Ecology) is urging the U.S. Department of Energy DOE) to select a preferred method for treating all of the tank waste at the Hanford site before an environmental study is released before the end of the year. The waste is left from the past production of plutonium for the nation's nuclear weapons program.
