Alexander Works on Legislation to Sort Out Plan for Locating Nuclear Waste Repository

Nuclear power advocate Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and three other senators are working on legislation -to be ready by the end of the year -to set out a process for locating a nuclear waste repository. Alexander said the effort is to implement recommendations made in January by the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future. Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)); Dianne Feinstein, (D-Calif.) and Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) also are working on the proposal, Alexander reported.
