Hastings: Money Included For Work at Hanford Site

Congressman Doc Hastings (R), who represents Washington State's Fourth Congressional District, reported that the final fiscal year funding bill passed by federal lawmakers Dec. 16 included money for work at the Hanford nuclear site. In a statement, Hastings said that "while making much-needed cuts to most federal spending, Congress has provided sufficient funding to continue Hanford cleanup progress." The bill approved by the House of Representatives "will enable the tank farms to meet consent decree milestones and retain workers, enable the River Corridor Cleanup project to continue towards on-time, on-budget completion and achieve long-term cost savings by accelerating work at the Plutonium Finishing Plant," Hastings said.
