CDTSC, Boeing to Cease Demolition At Santa Susana Field Laboratory

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and the Boeing Co. voluntarily agreed to cease demolition and disposal work at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory until Sept. 30 to allow for a court hearing on the issue. DTSC and Boeing took the action after Consumer Watchdog and the Los Angeles law firm of Strumwasser & Woocher filed a motion Sept. 5 in Sacramento Superior Court for a preliminary injunction freezing all demolition of structures and disposal of radioactive waste at the site in Simi Valley.
