Third Eurasian Conference on Nuclear Science and Its Application

摘要

Diversity was the keynote of the Third Eurasian Conference on Nuclear Science and Its Application (ECNSA), held October 5-8, 2004, in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. Diversity came from a wide range of topics, participants from 14 countries, and the historic locale in the capital of this new republic at the western end of the Tian Shan mountain range. The meeting drew more than 250 scientists from the five organizing republics of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan and nine other countries, including Russia and the United States. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization were also represented. Like the inaugural conference in Izmir, Turkey, in 2000, and the second conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2002 (AW, Dec. 2002, p. 57), this ECNSA was geared to promote interaction among scientists in Eurasia and between them and the rest of the world.
