New institute will train staff for new reactors

Anew institute to be headquartered at Texas A&M University, in College Station, Tex., is being established to ensure that the state's nuclear power industry will have the engineers and technicians it needs to operate new plants in the coming decades. The establishment of the Nuclear Power Institute by a partnership consisting of Texas A&M's Dwight Look College of Engineering, the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), and other organizations around the state, was approved on December 6 by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.
