Two of Switzerland's main nuclear energy companies, the Axpo group and BKW FMB Energie, have announced plans to build two new nuclear power plants to replace three aging reactors, Beznau-1 and -2, operated by Axpo subsidiary Nordostschweizerische Kraft-werke, and BKW s Miihleberg plant, which are due to close around 2020.
